There’s no such thing as “offshoring profits.” The companies are STILL headquartered in the U.S. and still very much American companies. Who cares if they ship SOME of their productions overseas? It just means costs were too high, and they had to cut back somehow. Plus, there’s lots of high-skilled inshoring, perhaps even more so than the total outsourced job numbers. The profits still stay with the companies here at home. It’s not like offshored branches become totally new entities.
