What are the critical success factors when outsourcing?

By admin | August 9, 2008

mr_a_long asked:

I’m a final year university student researching outsourcing. If you’ve been involved with outsourcing in any sort of role, what would be your top 5 factors to get right to help contribute to a successful outsourcing project?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

    My favourite subject

1 Know thoroughly what you are specifying in detail.
2 Check the detail and find what’s missing.
3 Write a a fully specified contract that needs no interpretation or input.
4 Put it out for tender and specify the detail will be monitored
5 Include the cost of daily monitoring in any assumed savings
6 Monitor and charge the vendor double time to correct it
    7 Don’t accept any freebies.
